A couple of weeks ago I mentioned that I made some changes to our bedroom and I figured I’d give you a little tour today. I really wish I had some “before” photos but, like the bad blogger that I am, I didn’t think that far ahead before I started in on the project.
We bought our house almost three years ago and the larger master bedroom was probably the selling point for us (we’ll probably kick ourselves down the road because that meant the size of our spare bedrooms suffered big time). With that said, between the expense of having to furnish the room and just pure laziness, not a whole lot extra was added to it, which in turn made the room feel pretty, pretty empty. Since we’ve moved into our house, I’ve learned from experience that if I don’t finish something I start, chances are it’ll be a long while before it gets completed. Example: waiting almost two years before getting a light fixture for our living room. I guess I thought the hanging lightbulb added a little something extra to the room.

Anyways, enough chit chatting, here’s our bedroom (obviously all tidied up for your viewing pleasure).

Besides some smaller decorative pieces, the main things I added were: a new comforter set (courtesy of my bored dog) from Costco, a rug from Home Depot, and an oversized mirror, chair, curtains, and floor vase from Bouclair. I’m a huge lover of rugs so I knew adding one was a must. They instantly make a room feel so much softer, cozier, and they seem to make everything come together more.  I’m also a fan of larger mirrors just resting on a wall so I thought this would be a perfect way to fill up some space.

Since the furniture and flooring was already so dark, I wanted to keep everything else pretty light so I added whites, creams, and some lighter, rustic wood colours.

Hope you guys liked this tour! I love walking into this room now because everything feels so fresh and cozy! Now, let’s see how long I can keep this bedroom looking like this! Charley’s being monitored very, very closely and I’m on the “not allowed to throw my clothes over the floor and dresser” duty. We’ll see about that!!  I’m thinking about putting Todd on the “making the bed” duty, because that will probably be the hardest one of them all!
See you guys soon!
“Where are you guys going??”
