Recipe// My Yummy Weekend Smoothie

by | Sep 7, 2013 | Recipes | 3 comments

I love mah smoothies!  My magic bullet has probably been used more than any other appliance in my kitchen.  While this may sound odd, I usually make two different types; one for the weekdays and a different one on the weekend.  Have you guessed why yet?  Yup, because my smoothies on the weekends are ones that are a little bit more fun and a whole lot yummier!

Here’s what I add:

– Spinach (I add a handful of two. I can never taste it so why not get those extra nutrients in there)
– 1.5 – 2 cups of almond milk (unsweetened, everything else will add sweetness)
– 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
– 1 tablespoon of chia seeds (again, I have no idea that they’re in there so why not add ’em. You could substitute for flax seed)
– 1 tablespoon of almond butter
– 1 big tablespoon of plain greek vanilla yogurt
– Honey (a little bit goes a long way)
– 1 – 2 cups of frozen harvest mix (strawberries, mango, and pineapple)
* If I find that the smoothie is too thick, I’ll judge it and some water

I usually never eat frozen berries but I’m addicted to putting the harvest mix in my weekend smoothie because it makes it so cold, creamy and delicious!

Try it and I’m sure you’ll love it too!
