It feels a little strange coming here and not talking about Florida and not overloading these pages with sunny pictures, since that’s what’s been done every time the computer screen has flipped open over the last week or two. I mean, now I actually have to put my brain to use and come up with something all on my own. The horror!

But, instead of putting too much stress on that brain of mine today, I figured it was best to gradually ease back into things, so that’s where, thankfully, the five on Friday comes in. I’d like to think of it as a pre-game, or a warm up exercise, if you will.

ONE// Last weekend I saw the movie Neighbours and it did not disappoint. Then again, you really can’t go wrong with any type of movie that gives you both Seth Rogen for comedy, and Zac Efron for, well, you-will-never-want-to-blink-again moments. If funny movies and cute boys with rock hard abs are your thing, you’re gonna want to check this one out.

TWO//  It’s Friday. Time to pick up the pace, Renee. Okay, so not only is it Friday, but it’s a long weekend for me and my fellow Canadians. Americans get Memorial Day in May, and we get Victoria Day, or better known as May 24th weekend, which is strange because it rarely ever falls on the 24th. Apparently the holiday is always celebrated on the Monday before the 25th. It honestly amazes me how many times I have to use google when I come here. A lot of people use this holiday to officially start the camping season, and we’re following along by spending time at our cabin with some friends. I’m super, super excited and I can’t wait to get this weekend started.

THREE// I could not find the Cards Against Humanity game anywhere around here so I had to order it online and it could not have arrived at a better time. I’ve heard so many good things about this game, so I can’t wait to break it out this weekend and see just what kind of people me and my friends really are…although I’m pretty sure I already know the answer. Your secret is safe with me, guys!

FOUR// Since we’ve returned home from vacation, we have been making it a priority to teach Charley how to run with us. For a dog that is horrible at leash walking, this isn’t as simple as it sounds and, in fact, sometimes it has been pure torture. Luckily we started using a Halti and it is now like we have a brand new spanking dog. We take her with us in the evenings, and not only do we get a great run in, but Charley is now guaranteed to get out as well. What’s that saying, again? Happy wife fur momma equals happy life?

FIVE// Last night, me and my friend did a three hour hike and my body was not prepared, at all, for what I put it through. By the end of the hike we were practically jogging back to the car because of how cold and sore we were. But, nonetheless, it was a great way to catch up and I never get sick of seeing views like this. Take that, #1800minutechallenge.

Well, that’s all I got for today. How did I do all on my own?
Have a great weekend, everyone!
